Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

The Herne Group (UK) Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all its forms within our business and supply chains. This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps we take to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our operations or supply chains.

Our Commitment

At The Herne Group (UK) Ltd, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in any part of our business or supply chains.

Our Supply Chains

We source products and services primarily from established, reputable suppliers in the IT and consultancy sectors, including companies such as Oracle, Apple, and Microsoft. Our supply chains are based predominantly in the United Kingdom, with occasional international involvement in projects, particularly in nuclear sectors.

We engage with suppliers who demonstrate a commitment to ethical business practices and compliance with relevant laws, including those relating to modern slavery. We are vigilant in monitoring and assessing the practices of our suppliers to ensure they align with our values.

Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

We have implemented comprehensive due diligence procedures to assess and manage the risk of modern slavery in our supply chains. This includes:

  • Vetting and ongoing monitoring of suppliers.
  • Conducting regular audits to ensure compliance with ethical standards.
  • Providing training and awareness for our staff, ensuring they understand the importance of preventing modern slavery and know how to report concerns.

We also assess the areas of our business and supply chains where the risks of modern slavery may be higher, such as in regions with weaker labour protections. While our exposure to such risks is low, particularly as we operate in high-paid sectors, we remain proactive in ensuring compliance.

Training and Awareness

We provide e-learning training for all employees to raise awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking. This training ensures that staff can recognise and respond to any concerns related to modern slavery, in both our own business and within our supply chains.

Our Policies

Modern slavery considerations are embedded within our business policies, including our Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct. We are committed to ensuring that these policies are followed and that any violations are addressed appropriately.

Review

This statement will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to ensure its continued effectiveness. We are committed to maintaining high standards of corporate governance and will continue to evaluate our practices to prevent modern slavery in all areas of our business.
